I have many HD videos on my external hard drive for playback on the networked media player, Popcorn Hour. The files are in .mts format from different camcorders, Canon HF R20, Lumix TZ7 and Panasonic HDC-HS700. I would like to import them to Final Cut Pro 7 to make a DVD as present.
Even though it is said that FCP supports the AVCHD files from the AVCHD folder structure, I could not get it work via Log & Transfer. When looking for the solution to import AVCHD to FCP from external hard drive, I notice that the problem might be related to the 1080/60p files from HS700. But I could not easy identify which file for 1080i or which for 1080p now. The only solution for me now is to convert AVCHD to Apple ProRes 422 HQ for editing in FCP 7. Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac is the recommended AVCHD to FCP helper on Mac, and it works perfectly with my HD videos. Read The Full Story

Canon EOS Digital Rebel T2i / 550D recorded videos are saved in H.264 for image and linear PCM for audio. You can choose different recording modes like full HD 1920×1080p at 30/25/24 fps, HD/SD 1280×720p/640×480 at 60/50 fps. Even though the videos are saved in .mov format, you may also face problem importing the video to Final Cut Pro. Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac is the recommended Mac Canon EOS Converter for you to edit Digital Rebel T2i / 550D videos.

The Sony DSC-TX100V is on the iMovie ‘11 compatibility list, But it’s a AVCHD 1080/60p camera — iMovie ‘11 supports only 30fps! The Sony DSC-TX100V another option for 1920 x 1080/60i which equates to 60 interlaced fields per second, but the video quality of 60i recording mode is not better than 60p mode, so personally i prefer to choose 1080/60p for recording mts footage. So if I want to edit Sony DSC-TX100V 1080/60p .mts video with 60fps high quality for iMovie 11 on Mac, must to convert Sony DSC-TX100V 1080/60p .mts files to iMovie 11 before editing.
After google search , I need convert my Sony DSC-TX100V 1080/60p .mts to Apple Intermediate Codec MOV for iMovie 11 with keep the raw quailty, I found Final Mate for Mac is the recommended can convert Sony DSC-TX100V 1080/60p MTS to 1080/60p AIC MOV for editing on Mac. Then I download and try it. And I had succeed with the Apple Intermediate Codec at 1920×1080 60fps editing for iMovie 11 and i’m very satisfactied with the output quality after uploading the videos on Youtube. I am recording on a Panasonic HMC-150 (typically in 1080p30 and 1080p24)) and do my editing in FCE. However I need a program to convert the recorded files into something FCE can recognize. I do online tutorials and distribute to roughly a couple dozen different sites through BlipTV and TubeMogul. So far I’ve been limited to recording in 720p30 because it’s the best format that I can work with through iMovie (I use imovie to import the raw video, export as a quicktime and then import into FCE for final editing then do a final QT conversion to mpeg-4 for upload; and to be honest not real excited on the quality I’m getting as a finished video. So I need a program which can let me convert Panasonic HMC-150 1080p MTS to high quality FCE suitable format for editing. After editing, I need distribute to different sites through BlipTV and TubeMogul.

I use Canon 5D Mark II recording mov files.I used iMovie to do the original edit but found it was very poor with some under-exposed video I had so I’ve moved to Final Cut Express which is able to process the video much better. I found though that reading the Canon 5D Mark II mov files directly into FCE meant an immediate render was required but that by converting all the mov files first in AIC makes rendering unnecessary.(Canon EOS 5D Mark II enables video recording with 1080p MOV. )
So I need convert my Canon EOS 5D Mark II .mov to Apple Intermediate Codec MOV for Final Cut Express, after google search, I found Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac is the recommended can convert Canon EOS MOV to AIC for editing on Mac. Then I download and try it. And I had success with the Apple Intermediate Codec at 1920×1080 editing for my FCE without rendering. Read The Full Story

“I recently bought my Canon EOS 600D mainly for filming. Thing is, I’m having an issue with the video clips during conversion to Apple ProRes 422 (recommended by many people to use for editing on Final Cut Pro)
I have managed to install the EOS Movie Plugin-E1 for FCP and I can get my Camera/SDCard to appear during Log & Transfer with the small little “tweak/hack” to the camera .plist file, however, when I attempt to convert it, I just get the “!” error and it does not convert at all.” somebody complains on a certain forum.
